Liposuction for Love Handles

Whether liposuction is done specifically for the love handles or it is addressing multiple areas of the body in one sitting, the procedure is often performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Hunsaker typically performs tumescent liposuction, in which a special fluid containing an anesthetic and other ingredients is inserted into the treatment area before suction begins. The tumescent fluid further improves comfort and it also transforms fatty tissue for easier extraction. After inserting the tumescent fluid, Dr. Hunsaker then inserts a hollow cannula through tiny incisions. The cannula is moved back and forth, extracting columns of fat as it goes. The fat that is left behind falls into the channels created by the cannula, evening out the appearance of the skin and resulting in a naturally-sculpted contour.
